In addition to the administrative duties involved with running and managing the after school club, Karen and Tammy are also actively involved as playworkers at the club.
Tammy Heath Proprietor/Manager
During the PDA level 9 Childhood Practice course Tammy focused on Outdoor Play for her independent study. This has led to a wider understanding of its importance and of the play settings’ role in ensuring children have access to regular outdoor play and natural environments; the increased play opportunities and connections to nature this provides and the positive impact on children’s development, health and wellbeing.
Karen Brownlee Proprietor/Manager
During the PDA level 9 Childhood Practice course, Karen’s independent study focussed on children’s participation rights and highlighted and confirmed the importance of developing a listening culture based on respectful relationships in which all children and young people feel safe and confident in expressing themselves.
Nikki McNair Senior Playworker
Nikki is qualified with the Playwork SVQ level 3 and Understanding Autism level 2 (NESCOL). Niki has training in health and safety in the workplace, sign along, challenging behaviour, outdoor play, big games.
Katrina Smith Playworker
Katrina is qualified with Playwork SVQ level 3. Katrina has training in Disability awareness, assessing risk, autism awareness, inclusive play, moving and handling.
Audrey Hill Playworker
Audrey is looking forward to starting Playwork level 2/3 qualification in the near future. Audrey has training in child development, promoting positive behaviour, ADHD/Autistic spectrum, inclusive play, big games, bullying, TOP sport play, assessing risk, and managing challenging behaviour.
